We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Emily Bittman has joined the VisionWorks team. With her impressive background and passion for eye care, Dr. Bittman is poised to make a significant impact on our community here in the Comox Valley.

Dr. Bittman earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Oregon, where she graduated with great distinction. Her academic excellence is evident in her role as president of her school’s chapter of Beta Sigma Kappa, the international optometric honour society. She has gained extensive experience through her clinical rotations at various prestigious sites across North America, including the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane and the Retina Institute of Hawaii.

What sets Dr. Bittman apart is her ability to combine clinical precision with a warm, approachable style. This unique blend ensures that patients not only receive top-notch care but also feel comfortable and well-cared for during their visits. Her commitment to community and global eye care is evident through her volunteer work with AMIGOS Eye Care and her service trips to underserved populations in Costa Rica, rural Oregon, and beyond.

Originally from Melfort, Saskatchewan, Dr. Bittman brings a community-minded perspective to eye care. Her dedication to making a difference in the lives of her patients is truly inspiring. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Bittman is an outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys trail running, backpacking, cross-country skiing, and surfing.
