The Doctors
Dr. Kevin Drew
Dr. Kevin Drew grew up in Southern Alberta. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Lethbridge and graduate studies at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry in Pomona, California. Dr. Drew’s dedication to his studies earned him a place on the Dean’s Honour List and became a proud member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honour Society for academic excellence. During his 4th year externships, he gained valuable experience in ocular disease, private practice management, and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Drew started his career in rural High Level, Alberta. Working in such a remote area allowed him to fine-tune his knowledge of ocular disease and emergency eye care.
Dr. Drew recently relocated to the island with his wonderful wife and two young energetic boys. They are enjoying all the island has to offer. Dr. Drew is looking forward to providing outstanding eye care here in the Comox Valley.
Dr. David Dowe
After receiving an undergraduate degree in Biology from UVIC, Dr. Dowe volunteered with eye doctors in remote areas of Guyana, South America, where he lived with the indigenous people for four months, assisting Canadian and American eye doctors treat the underserved locals. When he returned to Canada, he applied and was invited into the Doctorate of Optometry program at Pacific University, in Oregon. After his training he completed an internship at Tyndall Airforce Hospital, Panama City, Florida. Dr. Dowe has a lovely wife as well as three grown boys. When not running a full practice, he enjoys his West Coast summers full of boating adventures with family and friends.

I am so grateful! My passion for eye care & eyewear has led me to 35 years of fun! I love adorning our gallery with beautiful eyewear. My experience and my passion for fashion continues here in Comox after relocating from Vancouver. I am originally made in Sweden. I am always seeking adventures and I love to spend time outdoors with a camera. Also in having a play day in my garden with my Rhodesian Ridgebacks Odin and Enzo ... how blessed am I.

You will often find me greeting you at the front desk or in the pre-test room. It’s a privilege to work in such a positive environment with so many learning opportunities at every corner.

I am a Comox original and am thankful for this paradise I live, work and play in. I care for our clients prior to seeing the doctors and I am the dry eye coordinator. I am grateful that I get to do what I love and spend time with such warm and kind people, the VisionWorks Team feel like family to me. After hours I enjoy boating, playing the piano, painting and watching vintage moves and TV shows!

I was born and raised in Inuvik, NT and moved to Vancouver Island to attend university. I knew VisionWorks was where I wanted to work the first time I came here! I appreciate the amazing eyewear and services we offer and the sense of family and community VisionWorks creates. VisionWorks nurtures my passion for fashion and great client care.
