Dr. David Dowe
After receiving an undergraduate degree in Biology from UVIC, Dr. Dowe volunteered with eye doctors in remote areas of Guyana, South America, where he lived with the indigenous people for four months, assisting Canadian and American eye doctors treat the underserved locals. When he returned to Canada, he applied and was invited into the Doctorate of Optometry program at Pacific University, in Oregon. After his training he completed an internship at Tyndall Airforce Hospital, Panama City, Florida. Dr. Dowe has a lovely wife as well as three grown boys. When not running a full practice, he enjoys his West Coast summers full of boating adventures with family and friends.
Dr. Shannon Moore
After falling in love with the Comox Valley, Dr. Moore began her undergraduate studies at North Island College and completed her Biology degree at U.Vic. She went on to complete her Doctorate at New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, where she practised optometry. Dr. Moore completed clinical training in primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatric optometry and contact lenses. She is a member of the British Columbia Doctors of Optometry and the Canadian Association of Optometry. When not caring for patients, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding and spending time with her family and friends. Shannon is thrilled to be back in the Comox Valley and excited to have joined VisionWorks Optometry and is welcoming new patients.
